Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary & Descriptions :
The Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in project tenders and managing project costs to ensure projects are completed within budget without compromising quality or standards. You will oversee project tenders, cost estimation, procurement, contract administration, and value engineering, while collaborating closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. You will manage all aspects of project cost control, from estimation and tendering to final account settlement. You will collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget, meeting quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting :
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for project proposals.
- Tendering and Procurement :
- Manage the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities (BOQ).
- Evaluate and negotiate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Award and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budget.
- Contract Administration :
- Monitor and manage contract variations, claims, and payments.
- Review and resolve disputes related to costs or contractual matters.
- Ensure all work complies with legal and regulatory requirements in Singapore.
- Cost Monitoring and Control :
- Track project expenditures and perform regular cost reviews.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering strategies.
- Generate accurate cost reports for management and stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Communication :
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to align cost strategies with project goals.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and external stakeholders.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and financial records.
- Provide timely and accurate project cost reports to management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction or A&A projects in Singapore.
- Proficient in construction costing, tendering, and contract administration.
- Familiarity with Singapore’s building codes, regulations, and practices.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
